
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger Accounting
- Prepare and review journal entries for assigned accounts and transaction types.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of general ledger records and account balances.
- Perform monthly reconciliations for assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Prepare necessary adjusting entries and accruals for management review and approval.
- Assist with consolidation activities by preparing intercompany eliminations and adjustments.
- Support month-end closing activities, ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Maintain supporting documentation for all journal entries and account reconciliations.
Cash Management Support
- Monitor daily cash positions and bank balances across assigned accounts.
- Prepare daily and weekly cash reports and forecasts.
- Conduct daily bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
- Process and record cash receipts, payments, and bank transactions.
- Assist with the recording and revaluation of foreign exchange transactions.
- Maintain and update cash flow forecasting models, including actual cash movements.
- Coordinate with banking partners regarding account maintenance and transaction inquiries.
Fixed Asset Accounting
- Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and asset records.
- Process additions, disposals, transfers, and retirements of fixed assets.
- Record and calculate monthly depreciation for all asset categories.
- Perform periodic asset reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Assist in physical asset verification processes and reconcile with accounting records.
- Manage asset master data, including locations, cost centers, and depreciation methods.
- Support asset impairment assessments and write-off procedures.
Financial Controls & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
- Maintain appropriate documentation for all transactions and reconciliations.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation.
- Perform control activities and monitor compliance with approval matrices.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and unusual variances.
- Support process improvements and system enhancements.
Reporting & Analysis
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reporting packages for designated areas.
- Provide variance analysis and explanations for account movements.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses as requested by management.
- Maintain financial reporting schedules and supporting documentation.
- Assist in preparing regulatory and compliance reports.
System & Process Management
- Manage ERP system master data for designated accounts and cost centers.
- Process system transactions, ensuring accurate data entry.
- Support system implementations, upgrades, and testing processes.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements.
- Keep accounting procedures and documentation up to date.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all system transactions.
Requirements
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- Ongoing professional development and continuing education.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
- General ledger and financial reporting experience required.
- Cash management and banking operations experience is a plus.
- Fixed asset accounting experience preferred.
- ERP system experience required.
- Multi-jurisdictional accounting experience is desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP).
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, specifically in GL, cash management, and fixed asset modules.
- Understanding of consolidation and multi-currency accounting.
- Knowledge of cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
- Expertise in fixed asset accounting and depreciation calculations.
