Job Purpose
The role involves the administration, management, and development of Etisalat’s IT Data and Voice Network to ensure optimal availability and performance for all corporate services provided to internal Etisalat staff, as well as services offered to Etisalat subscribers.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and Support the Following Components:
- IT data center network devices
- Routers
- Switches
- Wireless network
- Cisco Call Manager
- Cisco UCCX
- Installation, Configuration, and Maintenance of the company’s Internal LAN, addressing end-user network-related issues.
- Network Equipment Administration including hardware (routers, switches, wireless access points, voice servers, gateways, and IP phones) and software upgrades.
- Perform Network Design and Capacity Planning to ensure efficiency and scalability.
- Vendor Interaction and Negotiation during new project implementations and support for completed projects.
- Develop, Implement, and Maintain network and IP telephony policies and procedures.
- Practice Network Asset Management by maintaining an up-to-date inventory of network components and technical documentation.
- Establish Operational Agreements with end users to define network performance expectations.
- Administer End-User Accounts by managing permissions and access rights.
- Perform System Backups and Recovery to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Monitor Logs and Performance using tools like SolarWinds, checking daily Syslog Reports and managing network device logs.
- Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues by handling trouble tickets assigned by the IT Service Desk team.
- Monitor Network Devices and Connectivity via applications such as SolarWinds.
- Generate Weekly Reports that provide statistics on traffic utilization on Etisalat links using SolarWinds.
- Create Network Diagrams using Visio to document Etisalat’s infrastructure.
- Track Hardware Inventory by recording serial numbers, locations, and part numbers for all network devices.
- Manage WAN Optimization to ensure network efficiency.
- Handle Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) using Cisco ACS.
- Support the Acceptance of New Point of Sales (PoS) Projects and provide required network resources.
- Provide 24/7 On-call Support for Etisalat employees to resolve network issues as they arise.
- Test and Download New Network Software to ensure the network remains up-to-date with the latest updates.
- Perform Planned Network Outages during off-peak hours.
- Test New Network Products and Solutions to assess their suitability for the network.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience working with IP networks in a large corporate environment.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience with Cisco Routers and Backbone/Edge Switches.
- Good knowledge of switching and IP routing protocols.
- Familiarity with the operations of IP networks in a Telecom environment.
Desirable Experience:
- Network and/or Voice experience within a large corporate environment.
Certifications (Essential):
- Relevant certifications in network management and Cisco technologies.
