Marketing Specialist


    Overview of the Role:

    The Marketing Specialist plays a key role in strengthening IKEA’s brand presence and reputation in Egypt through effective marketing campaigns, research initiatives, and event management. The role’s success is measured by enhanced brand visibility, increased customer engagement, and efficient execution of marketing activities. The specialist will work closely with the Marketing Manager to implement strategies that align with IKEA’s business objectives while ensuring optimal use of resources.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Strategic Marketing Planning

    • Support the Marketing Manager in developing long-term marketing strategies and launch plans for both new and existing stores.
    • Contribute to the creation and execution of strategic marketing initiatives that drive brand awareness and customer engagement.

    Vitality Calendar Management

    • Implement vitality calendar activities under the guidance of the Marketing Manager, ensuring campaigns align with business priorities.
    • Coordinate product selections and pricing with the range team, and manage daily communication with marketing agencies and stores before campaign launches.
    • Possess a solid understanding of digital campaign planning, execution, and performance monitoring.

    Market Research

    • Execute research briefs provided by the Marketing Manager to support strategic decision-making across designated territories.
    • Work with local and regional research agencies to evaluate market positioning and support IKEA’s branding objectives.
    • Analyze customer demographics, behaviors, and catchment areas to inform marketing plans and optimize market penetration.
    • Conduct analysis for new or existing markets using macroeconomic data to support business expansion.

    Budget Management

    • Assist in marketing budget preparation, maintaining records of media costs and tracking department invoices.
    • Implement cost-control measures by sourcing multiple vendor quotations and negotiating favorable rates.
    • Contribute to efficiency initiatives and ensure adherence to approved budgets while achieving strategic goals.

    Project Support

    • Provide comprehensive support on new store openings, managing media and PR activities, and coordinating with creative agencies.
    • Proactively propose marketing ideas and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.

    Public Relations & Event Management

    • Develop and manage the annual PR calendar to align with IKEA’s brand priorities and business objectives.
    • Partner with store teams and event agencies to plan and execute engaging events that promote customer and co-worker involvement.
    • Organize press activities, influencer engagements, and industry events to strengthen brand relationships and visibility.
    • Plan and manage press trips consistent with IKEA’s strategic communications goals.

    Required Skills:

    • Strong organizational and planning abilities to manage multiple marketing activities simultaneously.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with agencies and internal teams.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing and producing marketing materials.
    • Ability to manage time efficiently and meet tight deadlines.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in retail marketing, advertising, or communications.
    • Proven experience in digital marketing strategy and execution.
    • Fluency in Arabic with strong written and verbal English skills.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
