    The Opportunity

    The Software/Platform Engineer II plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing Individual Business Operations systems. This position involves managing both minor and major system improvements while leading efforts to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. The ideal candidate combines technical proficiency with business analysis skills to ensure the continued performance and stability of legacy systems.


    How You’ll Contribute (Key Responsibilities)

    Technical Expertise

    • Act as an Analyst Programmer on the AS/400 platform, utilizing COBOL, RPG, and CL programming languages to maintain and enhance legacy applications.

    System Maintenance

    • Ensure consistent system reliability and performance through regular maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of legacy systems.
    • Identify and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and operational impact.

    Operations Support

    • Provide continuous technical support to business operations, ensuring smooth and efficient system functionality.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address operational challenges and implement solutions.

    Business Analysis

    • Serve as a Business Analyst for small to medium-scale system enhancements.
    • Partner with business leaders to gather requirements, analyze needs, and prepare clear and comprehensive documentation that aligns with business objectives.

    Team Leadership

    • Lead and mentor the IT support team in addressing user concerns and resolving issues efficiently.
    • Foster teamwork and knowledge sharing to enhance problem-solving capabilities across the team.

    Documentation and Review

    • Develop, review, and maintain technical and functional documentation for system changes and enhancements.
    • Ensure all documentation accurately reflects system updates and supports business goals.

    What You’ll Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
    • Technical Skills: Proven experience with AS/400 systems and proficiency in COBOL, RPG, and CL.
    • Experience: Strong background in maintaining and supporting legacy systems.
    • Competencies: Exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, guide, and collaborate effectively within a technical support team.
